Pastor Andrew Dyer of Corinth Baptist Church in London, Kentucky sees Pickleball as a social game because it connects people. And that’s a great way to share Christ.

In the fall of 2021, one of church’s senior adults asked if she could make a pickleball court in the activities building. Pastor Dyer’s first question….what’s pickleball?

After a short tutorial, he approved the idea and It took off!

Now the church has a dedicated Pickleball time a couple of nights per week and the schedule is made available on Facebook so anyone from the community can come.

Andrew and his wife, Corri, have taken up the game. And when the opportunity comes up, they share Jesus.

Dyer said, “We talk about everything under the sun – all the things that are important to you… and one of the things that’s important to me is my faith in Christ. And so, it’s a natural extension to have conversations about things going on in their lives, what’s important to them, and that can lead to honest chats about church, and prayer requests, spiritual discussions in a non-threatening way.”

Pastor Dyer has found Pickleball to be a great way to establish friendships and trust, but he says each Christian can use a personal interest to do the same.

“Anything from shopping for antiques, quilting, or growing a garden gives believers an opportunity to connect with others and talk about our faith in Christ.”
