Planned Parenthood performed over 390,000 abortions while receiving nearly $700 million in government grants and reimbursements, according to its latest annual report for 2022-2023.

Pro-life activists say the findings appear consistent with the long-term trend of the nation’s largest abortion provider performing more abortions and providing fewer health services.

Michael New, a senior associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, wrote in an analysis that Planned Parenthood‘s annual reports “consistently provide solid evidence that Planned Parenthood continues to prioritize abortion.”

He also found that Planned Parenthood performed 228 abortions for every adoption referral in 2023.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the national anti-abortion activist organization Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, asserted in a statement that Planned Parenthood‘s latest annual report shows that its “business is abortion, abortion and more abortion.”

She cited the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s list of the leading causes of death in the United States, which includes deaths from heart disease, cancer and COVID-19, noting that unborn babies aborted by Planned Parenthood outnumber many of them.
