Against the backdrop of a wintry capitol, tens of thousands of pro-life marchers gathered for the 51st annual March for Life on January 19—the second march in a post-Roe America. Rallygoers descended on the National Mall in unity to stand “with every woman, for every child,” in keeping with the 2024 theme.

March for Life president Jeanne Mancini told the marchers, “We are not done. We will keep marching every January at the national level, as well as in our states, until our nation’s laws reflect the basic truth that all human life is created equal and is worthy of protection.”

Event speakers included officials from Focus on the Family, GiveSendGo, Alliance Defending Freedom, and ProLove Ministries.

Among the marchers were hundreds of Liberty University students.  Liberty University vice president Ryan Helfenbein said, “I am so proud to see Liberty University students taking time out of their schedule to voluntarily make the trek all the way up to D.C. on a snowy day that was below freezing. It demonstrates they care and are deeply committed to protecting the sanctity and dignity of human life.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson came from Capitol Hill to speak to the crowd.

Johnson told the marchers, “My friends, let’s be encouraged. Let’s press on in hope that we can join together and make this great difference.”
