The research found that Christians give nearly three times as much money to charitable causes as non-Christians and are more than twice as likely as non-Christians to say faith influences their financial decisions.

In particular, most Christians say they recognize the responsibility of good financial stewardship.

One statistic that stands out…..young Christians likely donate to 3 or 4 charities, including religious non profits, but they most likely are not giving to a local church.

Here’s where they are giving – to individuals or families in need, to a crowdfunding effort and to non-religious charities or educational organizations.

The study concluded by acknowledging that overall, young adults in America don’t appear to be particularly generous. Even though Christians are more likely to have donated in the past year than non-Christians, 83% of young adults gave a total of $1,000 or less in the past year.

Although most survey participants were employed full-time, 36% of young adults didn’t give donations to any group or individual in need in the past year.

But as to the difference faith makes, while most people want to be wise stewards of their money,  most Christian young adults see this as a responsibility that comes with their faith.
