As calls for war intensify in the Ukraine, calls that could include the United States, Mission Eurasia is issuing an urgent call to prayer.

The call comes from Sergey Rakhuba, the president of Mission Eurasia

His email begins by quoting Romans 12:12 – Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Rakhuba writes that the crisis in Ukraine has taken a dangerous turn for the worse as the potential for a Russian military invasion now appears to be more likely.  With the continuous build-up of Russian and Belarusian troops and equipment along Ukraine’s eastern border, many analysts believe that Ukraine’s peace and security is now under the threat of an imminent attack.

He says the answer to the crisis is prayer writing,….

“As believers, we know that we ‘do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places’. That is why we are now urging the global Christian community to pray earnestly for God to intervene in this crisis and defeat the forces of evil that are mobilizing an army to bring further destruction and death to Ukraine.”

Ukraine is the location of Mission Eurasia’s field ministries headquarters, from where all of the ministry’s work is mobilized to bring the gospel of peace to other countries in Eurasia. If the rumors of war become a reality, Mission Eurasia may need to postpone some ministry events that were planned for the near future.
