Liza Scott recently opened a lemonade stand at her family’s Alabama bakery and in a shock to everyone, Lemonade for Liza has raised over $300,000.

The funds will help pay for Scott’s medical costs associated with three rare brain formations that cause grand mal seizures.

Her mother, Elizabeth Scott, said that as a single mother living paycheck to paycheck, she never imagined having the funds to pay for such expensive medical bills. Elizabeth said Liza has bad days and good days with anxious feelings around her surgery.

Liza said  — “I’m pretty good. Still nervous, but I’m getting better.”

The family has been recording Liza physical and business progress on twitter. One post showed a smiling Liza in front of her impressive lemonade stand with the caption – “Homewood family experiencing outpouring of support for 7-year-old facing multiple brain surgeries”.

Another showed a happy customer who had died her hair in honor of Liza losing hers before a surgery.  It read: Pink Lemonade Hair!

Liza and her mom received free flights and hotel accommodations for her surgeries in Boston. The first surgery is set to take place this week.

According to Elizabeth, Liza loves dancing more than anything and she wants to open another lemonade stand after her surgeries. She plans to donate the money to children in situations like her own.
