2019 was a big year for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The group passed out more than 190,000 copies of the Bible.

FCA has been passing out Bibles for the past 15 years and last year’s efforts brings their total over that period to about 2.5 million Bibles given away making the Christian group one of the largest distributors of Bibles in the world.

Back in November, FCA celebrated its 65th anniversary. FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson believes the group has remained vibrant because it has not compromised its focus and commitment to God’s Word and biblical truth.

Staying true to the word and its mission hasn’t come without challenges.

In recent years, some have taken issue with the organization’s support for traditional marriage and sexual ethics.

A group of female students in Bozeman Public Schools in Montana recently demanded that their local FCA chapter disaffiliate from the national group over these stances.

But FCA didn’t budge on its principals resulting in the school district revoking FCA of Bozeman High School’s official status.

Williamson says staying true to their mission was easy in light of “The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. He said, it doesn’t only rally us, but it tells us to teach all who hear the message to obey.”

Adding, “How do we do this? We use God’s playbook, the Holy Bible, to share the life-changing message of salvation.”
