A couple of good news stories about big companies showing a big heart:

7-Eleven is gifting $7,111 to a St. Louis baby born on July 11 at 7:11 p.m. who weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

J’Aime was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis. She was born to parents Rachel Landford and Johntez Brown, who according the hospital are both from St. Louis.

7-Eleven spokeswoman Gaby Harris told USA Today — “After catching wind of the incredible news, 7-Eleven decided to pledge $7,111 to the newborn’s college fund to honor her entry to the world,” “Along with this pledge, the store has also provided the family with diapers, 7-Eleven onesies and other newborn goodies to help her parents along the way.

And in Severn, Maryland a 96 year old World War II veteran entered a Chick-Fil-A desperately seeking help with a flat tire. Restaurant manager Daryl Howard jumped into action to save the day.

Howard was working the front line of the restaurant when “Mr. Lee,” as he’s known, entered the store “shaking” and “almost in tears.”

Howard was able to fix Mr. Lee’s tire in about 15 minutes, but long enough for some in the restraurant to get a picture of his kindness.

A co-worker said Howard as been at Chick fil a for about nine years adding – “I thank God I was in the right position to be witness of this touching moment.”
