A Good Samaritan says he donated a new roof to a North Carolina couple to take part in God’s work.

A Gaston County, North Carolina couple will be snoozing soundly from now on after a business offered to repair their leaky roof.

Wade and Louise Lunsford couldn’t afford to spend the thousands of dollars needed to repair their deteriorating roof, which constantly leaked when it would rain.

The couple used makeshift tubs to catch the rainwater.

Louise said, “We’d have to get up at four, five o’clock in the morning and empty it when it’s starting to get filled up,”

Their plight began spreading online after a relative started a GoFundMe page. It ultimately caught the attention of Brandon Johnson, who owns Southern Star Roofing and Construction. He offered to replace the couple’s roof for free.

Johnson told WCNC TV, “Someone once said, ‘If you take care of God’s business, he’ll take care of yours. We just felt prompted to come out and serve our community.”

Other companies in the community provided the construction materials and repaired the water damage inside the house.

Wade Lunsford said, “It’s just overwhelming, really, the kindness of people,”

Johnson challenged other business owners to also help their communities telling them, “Step up; reach out; pay it forward. I think if we’re blessed with those kinds of resources, it’s our job to give it back.”
