Actor Gary Sinise recently flew 1,000 children of fallen soldiers to Disney World for Christmas.

Sinise is most remembered for his film roles, but he engages in numerous philanthropic endeavors, too.

The gift to the Gold Star families is a wonderful distraction from what many see as a very difficult time of year. In total, almost 1,700 families members went on the trip.

Sinese said, “Each one of these children who are going on these airplanes have lost a parent in military services, either combat-related or illness or unfortunately suicide sometimes. We want to take care of these kids and make sure they know we don’t forget.”

15 planes were needed to get everyone to Disney world. The kids made news when earlier this week when they had a layover in Nashville.

Jen Tringale was at the airport when the kids arrived she posted a video to her Facebook page adding, “I witnessed an international airport come to a complete stop today.

When they announced them over the loud speaker and they lined up to board the plane the whole airport literally stopped and sang the national anthem with military present in salute.”

Unlike most the political movers and shakers in Hollywood, Sinise has become known for a dedication to U.S. servicemen and women. He spent the holidays in 2017 in Iraq and Afghanistan with deployed troops.
