The bond between brothers is incredibly strong. Some siblings share everything with each other… even body parts!
On Brandon Lash’s 25th birthday, his younger brother Derek gave him the most incredible surprise anyone could ever receive. Brandon had been in kidney failure since he was just 23 years-old, and he was starting to lose hope about finding a donor.
His parents, Beth and Steve Lash of Pennsylvania, had both been tested to see if they were a match so that they could donate, but they were devastated when the discovered that they were not.
That’s when Derek decided to get tested himself to see if he had the power to save his brother’s life. When he found out that he was a perfect match, Beth and Derek decided to arrange for the ultimate surprise birthday present for Brandon.
On her Facebook page, Beth said.“Brandon and Derek have always been close,” “My hopes and dreams for my boys have always been for them to be happy, healthy and kind and to always stay true to their heart. I think their brother bond will get even stronger if that’s even possible.”
As the family gathered in their living room in December 2017, Brandon was presented with a giant birthday card. His brother Derek hovered behind him, and Brandon began to read the card aloud.
It read, “I’m so thankful to have you as a brother, you have always been there for me, even though I get on your nerves sometimes. You will always have a piece of my heart, now you will have my kidney, too. We are a perfect match.”
Brandon’s surgery is scheduled for this month.
