According to a recent survey, just about every Christian in Great Britain has concerns about the what the future holds for those who boldly speak about their faith.

There are very few issues where just about every Christian is in agreement.  But a new survey has discovered one….and its findings are sobering.

Premier Christian Communications has published a survey of nearly 12,000 Christians about what it’s like to be a Christian in Britain today. Ninety-three percent of those surveyed said Christianity is being marginalized in society. Furthermore, half of those responding say they have personally experienced prejudice against their faith. Only 29 percent said that it is considered acceptable in society for Christians to share their faith with others.

Tim Farron, the former head of the Liberal Democrats party said in his resignation speech last month, “We are kidding ourselves if we think we live in a tolerant liberal society.”

Christian Concern, a group that advocates for religious liberty in Great Britain, said the survey reveals only the tip of the iceberg of the problems Christians face. The group has dealt with dozens of cases that never reach the courts, where Christians have been discriminated against in one form or another. This survey shows that there are thousands more—Christians who have experienced some kind of prejudice against their faith.

Still, they encourage believers to be courageous and unashamed of their faith and the teaching of God’s Word.  They say it’s a role that Christians in Britain need to play today.
