An Oregon teenager did something that several passing motorists ignored….he save a man from jumping off a railroad overpass in a suicide attempt.

Damion Morris wasn’t scheduled to work delivering Domino’s Pizza, but they needed someone to come in, so he took the shift. He ended up saving a suicidal man’s life in a dramatic tussle on an overpass. He was coming back from delivering a pizza when he spotted a man with a leg over the overpass, with railroad tracks many feet below, and a nearly empty bottle of whiskey nearby.

Several motorists just kept on driving – one even told the man to jump.  But Morris pulled over, leaving his car partially blocking the road, and starting talking to the man. The man said nobody cares about him but Morris said he did and that’s why he stopped.

That’s when the man leaned over to jump, and Morris grabbed him, planted his leg on the railing, and struggled to haul him back to safety. Morris was losing the battle until a second good Samaritan stopped to help. They worked together to hold the man down until the police arrived.

As they struggled to contain the man, Morris estimated another 20 cars drove past. He said in “Every car that was going by someone was videotaping, just staring. Nobody helped” He added “I couldn’t believe that.”

The next day the man came to the Domino’s where Morris works. When asked for his order. “He said, ‘I’m not here to take an order, I was here to thank somebody that saved my life yesterday.’”
