If you’re a husband, what does your wife need from you? We have seven suggestions today from Dr. James Dobson.

Dobson says husbands need to be radically diligent and intentional when it comes to loving their wives. Here are his top seven ways to do that:

First, Spend daily time to let your wife share her day. Dobson says women are hard-wired with a desire to emotionally connect at a heart level.

Next, Reinforce your commitment to her. Regardless of what culture or the prevailing “chick flicks” may promote, wives need commitment above everything else.

Third, provide opportunities for her to rest and fellowship with other women. Wives are often the most self-sacrificing people. They need “a break from it all.”

Fourth, Maintain a financial plan–short-term and long-term. Countless experts have stressed the connection between a woman’s sense of security and the financial stability in her life.

Next, Set aside regular date nights or shared activities. Every married couple needs to spend dedicated time together that allows them to just focus on each other and enjoy whatever they’re doing together.

Sixth, Touch her and love her without any sexual-strings attached.

And Finally Pray with her and spend time together in God’s Word. Christian husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves His church. A husband’s highest priority needs to be the spiritual welfare of his wife.
