You might have to look a little harder these days but you can still find signs of spirituality in our highly secularized culture.

A touching photo that purportedly shows staff members at a Dutch Bros. Coffee shop reaching through a drive-thru window to pray with a grieving widow has gone viral after a woman took a photo of the encounter and posted it to Facebook.

“Snapped this picture while waiting in line … Turns out the young lady in line ahead of us lost her 37-year-old husband last night,” read a description by a woman named Barbara Danner.

She wrote, “When the Dutch Brothers guys & gals noticed she was falling apart, they stopped everything and prayed with her for several minutes, invited her to come back for prayer and support, as well as anything else that she might need.”

She concluded the post, “Prayers for the young family, and you know where to stop for coffee!”

Reporters from the Oregonian spoke with Pierce Dunn, one of the Dutch Bros. workers who prayed with the woman.

Dunn, a 19-year-old Christian, said that she was visibly upset when she came through the drive-thru, so he asked if he could pray with her.

Dunn told the paper, “That moment was absolutely incredible. It was so emotional,”  ”She was crying. I shed a few tears. We’ve cried since as well. When something that real happens, it hits close to home.”

Franchise owner Jessica Chudek said she was proud of her workers for coming alongside the woman in her time of need, but said that she wasn’t at all surprised – because “We do these kinds of things every day,” “And rarely is it caught on camera.”
