The typical new years resolution are to eat better, exercise more and procrastinate less. But one Christian blogger thinks there are some greater goals believers should be striving for in 2016.

Blogger Natasha Crain has five New Year’s resolutions that parents should consider.

  1. Make this the year you start loving and reading the Bible regularly.
  2. Find time for prayer outside of meal times and Bible studies and have conversations about faith.
  3. Identify your biggest faith questions and study the answers offered by a number of theologians.
  4. Identify and get out of your prayer ruts. Crain asks, Are you feeling uninspired by your prayer life? Only praying when something goes wrong? Not praying at all? When our prayer life goes dull, our entire relationship with God can go dull.
  5. Commit to deepening the intellectual side of your faith. Given the challenging secular environment our kids are facing today, this goal is extremely important for Christian parents! We can’t train our kids if we aren’t trained ourselves.
